Even Pink Elephants Love A Good Chai Tea...Coloring Pages!

Hello Saturday!  We have a rainy morning going on here, so it's really the perfect day to break out the colors and play with new coloring pages.  (I've also been informed that they also would make great stitching patterns for any embroidery enthusiasts out there).  Here's a very special Morning and Night rendition of Color Your Saturday for you today, featuring some pretty pretty and FREE background papers made by my very talented friend Kristin Dudish.  She offers free collage papers every Friday for anyone to grab and play with, and it was super fun adding her textures and designs to my digitally colored version of the coloring pages for this week.  See how they adds extra cuteness to the elephant's bow, spots, and toenails and  created a soft mosaic feel to the sky in the background.
I like to think that these two meet for a Saturday morning brunch each week to catch up on all the jungle gossip.

In the second one, I used a star pattern from Kristin's stash and created a sweet nighttime scene my little koala bears.  I think its obvious the little one doesnt want to go to bed and is trying to hide from Mama.  It wont work little guy,  Mama always wins in the end.

So those are my versions, and it's time for you to create your own! Just click on the images below to view it in a larger size and save to your desktop.  Then you can either color digitally, or print out the images to color with whatever medium suits your fancy today.  Dont forget to pop by Kristin's page and grab a few fun papers to play with as well.  Remember these are only for your own personal use, you are welcome to share them online, just please link back to my site.
I'd love to see what you created with these latest pages! Share links on this thread, if you post them up somewhere, and if you missed any of the past pages, check out the PRINT tab at the top of this page.   Happy Coloring Everyone!

A Cute Mistake

I was making prints of some of my work to incorporate into covers for my journal necklaces, but the sizing was off and I didnt realize it until sheets of these 2" x 3" prints came spitting out onto the floor.  What am I going to do with these?! Instantly, tiny books with the prints on the covers sparked in my head. I tried one out using all recycled papers, with tabs, and a tiny pocket, and AMAZINGNESS!  I chose to hand sew them to give them a bit more character.  They are perfect for keeping in your pocket book for spontaneous thoughts, or slipping into your back jeans pocket when going for a walk.  So cute, I can hardly stand it and I just had to share my excitement with you. (those of you crafty readers know the magic you experience when you have an idea, that you dont know if it will work out, go perfectly.  Often these experiments will crash and burn, but on those few times that a risk turns into something beautiful, it makes all the other messes worth it. :) - dont you love when that happens?

I would love some feedback on these.  Let me know what you think about them.  How would you use a tiny journal like that?

Have a very blessed and happy fathers day with your loved ones!  I'm off to move around some furniture around in my new Art Room!  Wish me luck.
