I used a regular washable glue to create the flowers and typical fabric dyes for the colors. I am planning on turning the fabric into journal covers and the fibers will be handspun yarn to tie onto the binding. I am loving the way it looks outside my window right now, blowing in the wind on the clothesline. I just might have to make some more in this colorway to turn into flags or something, just so I can enjoy it all year round. Happy Friday!

ReplyDeleteGlue? I have been around a long time... why have I never heard of using glue as a resist before? Or maybe I have been around so long I have forgotten.... either way, I am going to play with this method. Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove the colours. I can't wait to see how you make them into journal covers! Sounds like a great and colourful idea ! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMy 11 year old daughter wants to be a fashion designer
and this is a great opportunity for her to make her own fabric.
I’d love to know what kind of glue you used.
Thanks so much!
Thanks everyone! Eydie, i would HIGHLY recommend that your daughter sign up for Alisa Burke's Surface Design E-course. Its all about designing and creating your own fabric designs. It's where I learned how to do this, and I dont want to divulge Alisa's secrets... plus the class is really great! just go to www.alisaburke.com and look at her online class list.
